Pretending I have a daughter

All I ever wanted was a daughter! So when my friend Janie moved to Arizona, and then her daughter decided to come back to Oregon for the summer.. I was elated!

Not only did I miss them all dearly, but Aspen needed a place to stay. I will admit my husband was reluctant about a long term house guest. His home is his sanctuary, and having a teenage girl here, who he really doesnt know that well... just didnt sound ideal.

However.. I won in the end. So we fixed her up her own private space, in our guest quarters.

Aspen is a tomboy... which doesnt fly so well with me. I mean.. yeah I have sort of a beachy vibe to my fashion. But, in general.. I like fashion. Aspen was always anti-fashion.

Due to school getting ready to start, I wanted to head to the factory outlets to get the boys stuff for school. Aspen came along for the day as well. As the stores are over at the beach in Lincoln City. She really didnt have any money of her own, but that didnt stop me from making sure she too had some cute threads.

Anyway, I hand selected cute things, she would have never chosen for herself. Made her try them on, and in the end.. I bought her serveral super amazing, super cute things. It was exactly like it would have been, if she was my own daughter.

The boys were troopers throught it all, and I managed to finish shopping for them as well!

Look at how beautiful Aspen is, and she is sporting many of the things I bought her, gave her, or she borrowed!

All good things come to an end....... and then we nap!
