~ The Packing Challenge ~

This is a follow up from...

" ~ The Luggage Queen ~ "

I made a choice, and a very hard one... I was going to challenge myself to packing ONLY a carry on for my 9 day trip to Hawaii.

This packing process took me about 3 weeks. I would put together all the items I wanted to go. Then realize I was no where close to them fitting. So then I would remove things, re-configure outfits and try again. This is not only an agonizing process but an long term process.

Eventually I go shopping, because I do not need more clothes. But I think that perhaps if I my certain key items that it will make putting outfits together easier. Obviously this does not work out usually. But I tend to feel better about myself and my struggles.

Well after my battle, I finally managed to get everything into my new carry on. I packed 3 pairs of shoes, 5 bikini's, and a large variety of outfits that coorespond with said shoes. I have to say, I never felt something so gratifying. I had absolutely NO idea I could manage with just a carry on.

I did have a backpack for my laptop, camera, purse and makeup. I may have shipped shampoo and conditioner and lotions to the Hawaii house to give myself extra room. But I did it! I absolutely did it!!!

Now for most people this would not be a big deal. But if you knew me, you would understand why this is such a huge deal and why it is such a hard thing for me to do!
